The last week Bren-bren has been sick with a bad head cold that is still lingering as I write. He is such a tough little guy. He can fall down brush himself off and let me know "I alwight" and off he's playing again. This cold has brought out a different side though and it's not very pretty. He can throw a tantrum like I can't believe and pout and scream and hit. Unlike Trinity who is like me and thinks everything is her fault Brendan thinks if he's not feeling good it's mama's fault, the dog's fault, sissy's fault, daddy's fault..you get the picture. It's so hard when he starts to whine and won't talk and he just wants to be mad at you but you can't look at him or it starts all up again. It takes everything in me to be patient and sometimes (ok more than sometimes) I have to put him in time out on the bottom step until I can calm down and not act the same way (screaming back at him and acting like an utter lunatic). It's those times I go in another room and just pray to God, "Lord, what would you have me do to calm him down and get him to TALK not hit, scream, act like a cave man, etc.". It's so amazing how He will calm me down and just give me the patience but also the disciplined hand that boy needs. I love this boy more than I can even express and I thank God for the challenges He grows me through in this little preschooler. Now if I could learn how not to melt everytime he bats his gorgeous long lashes at me when he wants something (like "dersert"). Oh I love my babies!!
