Good Report

The kids did great at their dentist appointment! Trinity toughed it out and calmed down (only gagging twice and immediately calmed herself) and got all four sealants done on her molars. Brendan got a great report (no cavities or plaque! Praise the Lord!) and said he now wants to be a "denist", race car (short for race car driver I think), and a doctor. Go for it little man! So happy!!

We did get a frantic call from our case worker about our food stamp appointment...to this we said what appointment? Ms. Jackson, our case worker, said that the computer had generated a letter stating we had an appointment on the 14th to review our file for food stamps. Well, our letter was to me saying I still had Medicaid til the end of the month and the interview would review my MEDICAID case. I called my ob/gyn for my yearly visit and found out I had no Medicaid coverage since July which is contrary to what was mailed to me by DFCS. So Ms. Jackson said I shouldn't have Medicaid because I am no longer pregnant and don't make $500 or less as a family (it's $300 or less as a ceiling for individuals). Wow...I couldn't believe the government won't help people until they are not working!! Anyway, Craig ran our food stamp application with the increased property and city tax info, homeowners & car insurance premium, garbage increases we just found out about. She said she will update our information today and hopefully we will still have our assistance by the 16th updated to our account.

All this being said...I am SO over government help and just want to have a real job with real income and the pride that comes with hard earned money. Craig said I am being prideful...is that true? I'm not trying to take control away from the Lord but I do not want to rely on systems that fail and let you down. I am definitely more reliant on God. Even our mortgage payment that we will not have next month (at this particular moment) I have left in God's hands. I do not expect the government program that assists homeowner's in keeping their home out of foreclosure proceedings to help us. In fact I am waiting for our home to fall in to foreclosure. When is this whole ordeal going to end?! Everything in our life is so good except for the job and health issues. I guess I need to take my own advice and remember Joshua 1:9..."Have I not commanded you ? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Time to get on my knees and pray!
